Дочка британської королеви Єлизавети II, принцеса Анна написала звернення до жителів України та інших народів колишнього СРСР.
Це відбулося з нагоди дня закінчення Другої світової війни в Європі. Заяву принцеси Анни опубліковала пресслужба посольства Великобританії в Україні в Facebook."Сьогодні відзначається 75-та річниця капітуляції Німеччини, яка ознаменувала завершення Другої світової війни в Європі. У цей історичний день я хотіла б віддати данину чоловікам і жінкам того героїчного покоління з різних країн, які воювали заради перемоги", - йдеться в зверненні.
Принцеса підкреслила, що хоче висловити повагу ветеранам та усім народам колишнього СРСР.
"Вкрай важливо, щоб ми визнали неймовірну жертву, принесену народами колишнього Радянського Союзу. Мало хто боровся більш відважно і пізнав більше страждань заради перемоги", - повідомила принцеса Анна.
Нині живі можуть "черпати натхнення в мужності тих, хто зберіг віру в плече друга", зазначила принцеса.
