Earned over UAH 3 million in the pandemic: Cyberpolice detained scams (PHOTOS, videos)

The law enforcement officers were exposed to cybercriminals, who were using the COVID-19 pandemic, engaged in illegal trafficking in personal protective equipment, medical products.

This informs the press center of the National Police, reports "forensic newspaper."

It was established that from criminal activity in 40 fraudsters suffered about 1000 people, who suffered damage amounting to more than 3.5 million hryvnia. The final amount of damages is established.

It is reported that 56 searches were conducted in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, and Chernihiv. Bank cards, mobile phones, cash are removed.

In particular, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, two groups were exposed, which in the Internet placed thousands of announcements regarding the sale of thermometers, medical masks, antiseptics and other Antiepidemic protection objects. After they received the prepayment or full payment for the goods on the controlled accounts, the ads were deleted and stopped to go out of contact.

In addition, Cyberpolice has blocked over 32 thousand fake accounts.

The question is currently being resolved regarding the announcement of attackers's suspicions in offence crimes under the H. 3 tbsp. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face up to eight years in prison.
